Semi-Homemade Banana Cream Pie

One of my favorite things about this banana cream pie recipe is how easy it is to throw together. I always have a couple ready-made graham cracker crusts, cream cheese, vanilla pudding, and (unless the kids went crazy) bananas.  If you keep these on hand like I do, you'll be able to whip this up in no time at all!

Banana Cream Pie Recipe

Prefer to make your own graham cracker crust?  It's pretty easy – just pulse one package in the food processors until it's finely ground. Mix in 5 Tbsp melted butter & ¼ cup sugar and press into your pie pan. Bake for 5-7 minutes at 350°. Allow this to cool before continuing as instructed below.

While I keep ready made crusts on hand, I prefer using my deep dish pie plate for a pie like this.  Since you are adding extra fruit onto the crust, it can easily make it much taller than a simple pudding pie.  A deep dish pie plate works excellent for this purpose!

Ingredients for Banana Cream Pie Recipe:

9-inch graham cracker crust

2 ripe bananas

1 – 8 oz cream cheese, softened

2 cups milk

(1) 3 ¼ oz instant vanilla pudding

Directions for Banana Cream Pie Recipe:

Slice up one banana and place on prepared crust.

Mix together the softened cream cheese, milk, and pudding until smooth and thickened. Pour over crust.

Chill for 2-3 hours. Immediately before serving, slice up remaining banana, arrange on top, and pipe some whipped cream on to the top of the pie

Our banana cream pie recipe is a perfect solution for an afternoon barbecue or that random guest that shows up at dinner time.  Since it doesn't need a lot of time, you can whip it up in minutes and serve right away.  Of course, it is better when chilled for a few hours, but it isn't necessary.

For a little extra treat, you can easily drizzle a bit of caramel over the top of the pie, or between the bananas and pudding layer.  It adds just a bit of sweetness you will absolutely love!
