Pro Tips

Looking to take your dulce de leche cheesecake bars to the next level? Here are some pro tips to help you out:

  • Use a water bath: To prevent your cheesecake from cracking, bake it in a water bath. Simply wrap your springform pan in foil and place it in a larger pan filled with hot water. This will help regulate the temperature and keep your cheesecake moist.
  • Chill before serving: While it may be tempting to dig in right away, letting your cheesecake bars chill in the fridge for a few hours (or even overnight) will help them set and develop a richer flavor.
  • Get creative with toppings: While this dulce de leche cheesecake is delicious as written, you can also experiment with toppings like whipped cream, caramel sauce, or even leave off the chocolate layer & top with fresh fruit to add some extra flair to your dessert.
  • Use high-quality ingredients: Since cheesecake bars have a relatively simple ingredient list, it's important to use high-quality ingredients to really let the flavors shine. Opt for quality cream cheese, real vanilla extract, and premium dulce de leche for the best results.

There are many ways to make dulce de leche cheesecake bars, and you can adjust the recipe to suit your taste preferences. Here are some variations to consider:

  • Crust: Instead of using our crust recipe, you can use your favourite cheesecake crust recipe. For example, you could use graham crackers (or digestive biscuits), chocolate wafers, vanilla wafers, or even Oreo cookies. Or experiment with different nuts in the crust.
  • Decadent Toppings: Experiment with different toppings such as chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or a drizzle of caramel or fruit sauce to add extra visual appeal and flavor complexity.
  • Fruitful Additions: Introduce a layer of fruit compote or fresh berries between the crust and the cheesecake filling to bring a burst of fruity sweetness to each bite.

Remember to have fun and experiment with different variations to find your perfect dulce de leche cheesecake bar recipe!
