Yes. You want to use red apples in this smoothie. Unlike when you are baking and want that sour bite against the sugar or you need to worry about baking apples, you want that sweet taste that comes with the red apple.

Which apples are best for smoothies?

In my opinion, the best apples to use in this smoothie are Gala, Fuji, or Red Delicious. These apples are perfect for just the right amount of sweetness.

Can you put a whole apple in a smoothie?

I don't recommend it. Apples are quite hard and can damage the blade of your blender, not to mention that you are eating apple skin which contains pesticides. To get the best results for this Apple Pie Almond Milk Smoothie, it's important to remove seeds and the core from the apple before putting them in a smoothie. You also want to remove the skin because it does not break down well in the blender. If you do not remove the skin it will cause the smoothies to have hard chunks.

What is the best way to prepare an apple for a smoothie?

You want to make sure you remove the seeds from the apple before putting it in a smoothie. You'll also want to remove the core of the apple before adding it to a smoothie. You can use a peeler or a knife to remove the skin of the apple and then use an apple slicer or a knife to cut the apple into slices. this makes it easier for the blender and prevents the motor from burning out.

What Makes This Apple Pie Smoothie sweet?

This smoothie is sweet but it isn't as sweet as some other smoothies that have added sweetener. This smoothie is sweetened with banana and apple, which is why you want to use red apples. Also, then you are added dates to give the apple pie smoothie the perfect amount of sweetness without the need for added sweeteners.

Where do you find whipped coconut cream?

You can find whipped coconut cream at local health food stores like Sprouts or Whole Foods. Some of the mainstream larger stores, like Walmart or your local grocery store might have it as well, even though it is harder to find.

What is the best blender for smoothies?

I highly recommend Ninja as your best option. It has a powerful motor that allows it to puree anything you put into it including whole fruits and vegetables, as well as break down those hard ice cubes. In my opinion, it is the best blender out there for smoothies and will save you money in the long run because it purees fruits and veggies to such a fine consistency that you can use less of them which makes it cheaper to make your own smoothie recipes at home.

That said, I've never had a Vitamix and know many swear by them. Blendtec is another popular brand for those that do a lot of smoothies.
