Looking for an easy way to get some healthy nutrients into your body? Look no further than this Strawberry Banana Kale Smoothie! With a delicious combination of fruit, kale, and other healthy ingredients, this smoothie is the perfect way to start your day or enjoy it as a midday pick-me-up.

Mason jar full of a light coloured smoothie with green flecks, with a green straw sticking up and a sliced strawberry on the rim.

One of the things I love about smoothies is how easy and versatile they are. With the right ingredients, you can pack in all the nutrients your body needs in a delicious and satisfying way. This Strawberry Banana Kale Smoothie is no exception.

Even if you're not a fan of kale, you'll love this smoothie. The sweetness of the strawberries and bananas is enough to overpower any kale flavor, making it a great option for those who want to incorporate more greens into their diet.

To make this smoothie, I like to use almond milk because of its light flavor and accessibility, but feel free to use your milk of choice. Simply blend all the ingredients in your high-powered blender, and you're good to go!

If you're looking to switch things up, try swapping the strawberries for blackberries or blueberries, or using spinach instead of kale. You can also add in your favorite protein powder, some collagen, or even peanut butter for an extra protein boost.

For a thicker texture, use frozen fruit or freeze your bananas before blending. You can also reduce or omit the ice cubes entirely if you use all frozen fruit.

The best part? This smoothie is packed with healthy nutrients and can be enjoyed at any time of the day. So go ahead and indulge in this delicious and healthy treat!

The great thing about this kale smoothie is it is so easy to make! Just toss everything in your blender and go.

Almond Milk Smoothie Variations

My favorite combination is strawberry banana and kale, mostly because I love strawberries, kale is super nutritious, and banana is something I almost always add to my smoothies. But, the possibilities are endless here! A few variations and add-in ideas:

  • Use blackberries or blueberries instead of strawberry
  • Spinach instead of kale
  • Switch flax seeds to chia seeds
  • Add in your favorite protein powder
  • Add a scoop of collagen
  • Peanut butter for extra protein
  • Greek yogurt for an extra creamy texture and more protein

How to Thicken a Smoothie

The secret to an extra thick smoothie is to use frozen fruit! In this recipe, I use frozen strawberries but if you want an even creamier, thick texture, freeze your bananas too!

3 mason jars full of a light coloured smoothie with green straws.

Are Smoothies Healthy?

Whether or not a smoothie is helpful depends entirely on what you're putting in it. If you're filling it up with chocolate syrup and high-calorie ingredients…well, no, not really. But if you're loading it up with fruit, vegetables, and non-dairy milk, absolutely. Kale has TONS Of health benefits and you get them all when you make a kale smoothie.

To keep a smoothie as healthy as possible, opt for unsweetened milk and honey or agave for a natural sweetener.
