This week's frugal living post is from Crystal at Couponing For Freebies.

Do you shop at Aldi? It is such a great store to shop at and get big discounts. I have found that their everyday prices are almost always lower than that of other big stores such as Walmart. The only downside I have found to shopping at Aldi is they do not take coupons. But don't worry there are ways that you can save even more at Aldi without manufacturers coupons!

4 Ways To Save Even More At Aldi

4 Ways To Save Even More At Aldi

Search For Aldi Coupons
Well I guess I should have said they do not take coupons other than their own. That is right! From time to time Aldi will put out their own coupon. It is not something they do every week or even every month for that matter. I normally find them in the local paper. So be sure to always check your paper from cover to cover, as they can sometimes be hard to spot. But when you do find them, there are some great savings to be had as they are normally for say $10 OFF $50 or more.

Shop Aldi Clearance
Another great way that you can save even more at Aldi is by shopping their clearance section. You always have to be on the lookout for it, as it is not normally a huge section and can be easily overlooked. I normally find either a rack at the end of the freezer section or one at the end of the cans section. You do have to watch the dates on the items as sometimes they can be expiring soon.

Use The Checkout 51 App
One of the biggest ways I have found to save even more at Aldi is by using apps. Not all money saving and coupon apps will work, as not all work with all stores. One that I use the most is the Checkout 51 app. Because it works much like a rebate, you don't have to use it in the store and that makes it so we can use it with Aldi purchases. You buy the item that there is an offer for. Then take a picture of your receipt. After they review your receipt, the money will be added to your Checkout 51 account. After your account reaches $20, they will send you a check. They almost always have offers for fresh produce that is not brand specific, so they work great at Aldi. Plus this app can be used from a smartphone of your computer.

Use The Snap by Groupon App
Last but not least is the Snap app. It is another great way to save even more at Aldi! It works very much like the Checkout 51 app. You check out the offers available, buy those items, take a picture of the receipt and submit it from your phone or computer. When your snap account gets to $20, you can request payment.

Those are my four tips to save even more at Aldi. Have you found a way that you save, that I do not have covered here? We would love for you to share it in the comment section!

About Crystal: I am happily married to a wonderful husband for over 15 years. We have one dog that is our four legged baby and six very spoiled chickens. My husband and I try to live as frugal as we can. We never like to pay retail and try to teach others to do the same. By living our life that way, we have paid off our debt and are able to live off of a very low budget while still having fun and enjoying life.

Thanks for these tips! I actually lived in Germany for awhile and enjoyed shopping at Aldi. The one I went to in the states (Saint Augustine, FL) was a little depressing. Small. Hopefully, they’ll freshen the store up. My daughter lives there and I’ll definitely send her over, armed with the info in this post. Thank you so much for sharing with us at the Inspire Me Mondays Link-Up!
