The motto is that Petco is where the pets go, and once you learn these tips on how to save money at Petco, it is where you will want to go too! Take a look below at 7 ways to save money at Petco that you can try, so you can buy your furry friend everything he needs for less.

7 Ways to Save Money at Petco

We have 3 cats and a lapdog, Jack. He's really a 117 lb Chocolate Lab that thinks he is as small as the cats.  All except one cat were rescues and have various issues.  Jack is the most expensive one though.  He is allergic to wheat and all the cheaper dog foods have it. Even most of the expensive ones do!  We finally found a brand he likes that is grain-free, but it isn't available locally, so I drive over to Petco & stock up.

Since he always manages to get to the cat food, we had to switch them to grain-free too.  Now that we are Paleo & the pets are grain-free, no more allergy issues for Jack! Unfortunately, my budget was taking a hit until I discovered how to save at Petco!

7 Ways to Save Money at Petco

  1. Know the coupon policy – When you know Petco’s coupon policy, you can be sure you are using coupons to the best of your advantage. Petco accepts manufacturer coupons, internet coupons, as well as their own sale coupons. See a coupon for an item you need? Petco will take it!
  2. Price match – Petco will price match competitor prices, so if you see a price you like but are a loyal Petco customer, take the ad and price match. This is a great way to save on the items you love.
  3. Sign up for your rewards card – Sign up in store or online for your Petco rewards card. For every ten bags of food you purchase in 12 months, you will earn a free bag! You also earn points on your other purchases which can then be redeemed for a 15% off coupon good on your entire purchase. As if this isn’t enough, take your pet to Petco for grooming and enjoy your 8thvisit for free when you use your rewards card.
  4. Subscribe and save – Just like Amazon offers discounts when you subscribe for product deliveries, Petco offers the same. Sign up online to have the products you use regularly delivered to your door and enjoy a discount in the process.
  5. Take the survey –Check the bottom of your receipt for a satisfaction survey. When you complete this brief survey you will get a code good for $2 off your next purchase. How easy is that?
  6. Join the birthday club – Sign your pet up for the Petco birthday club and you will get all sorts of coupons and even freebies for your pet’s birthday. Your pet is sure to feel special.
  7. Use coupon codes – You can purchase items online at Petco.com and use coupon codes to save even more. Many of the codes are posted right on the webpage so there is no need to go search for them.

Buy the pet supplies you need for less when you give these tips for saving money at Petco a try!

Curious as to which brand of dog food you found that is wheat free, if you don’t mind sharing.

We get Whole Earth Farms – the salmon one. It’s grain-free & our dog does so much better on it. They have several that are wheat-free too.
