Smoothies are one of our favourite ways to start the day or a mid-afternoon snack to provide some extra energy until dinner, without a sugar crash.

I try to balance fruit smoothies with some greens and include a bit of protein, typically from nut milk, nut butter, or yogurt. Sometimes a combo of all 3! This green smoothie uses almond milk as the base with some yogurt to bump it up a bit.

This takes just a few minutes of prep work to through together.  While many would use canned pineapple, I find that fresh pineapple is much better for smoothies and general flavor in any snack or recipe.  Watch for sales and buy multiple pineapples when you find them at a great price.  Prep them and portion them into easy freezer bags or containers for future smoothie use.
