When temperatures start dropping, there is nothing better than this Hershey's Cookies and Cream Hot Cocoa Recipe. This is one delicious winter beverage that everyone can agree on drinking!
This cookies and cream white hot chocolate is one of my favorite things about fall. It takes less than 3 minutes to make, 3 ingredients, and can be done in the microwave!
I'm a cappuccino and chai latte girl, after that first cup of black coffee in the morning. My kids sometimes ask if they can have a cappuccino, but I really don't want to pair a ton of sugar with caffeine (mainly for my own sanity). They do have coffee on occasion but it's usually watered down quite a bit and with milk.
Instead of a cappuccino, I can give them a nice warm cup of this cookies and cream hot cocoa recipe. They feel like they got a grown-up treat. This recipe has some extra sugar, obviously, but aren't treats worth that on occasion?

Making a hot cocoa recipe special:
This hot cocoa recipe is a favorite option, but what really makes a hot cocoa recipe special? It's all about the memories made while sipping the warm creamy beverage. Everyone remembers snuggling in their parent's laps on a cold winter morning with a cup of cocoa. Doing this with your children is a great way to create memories, and perhaps even share your own memories of childhood.
If your children like helping in the kitchen, you can also make this a fun project for them to help create. Let your kids measure the milk and cream, or even crush the candy bar (crush it inside a ziplock bag to avoid mess). If you plan to top with whipped cream, you could even teach them how to make their own homemade whipped cream.
Great books to read with kids:
We love reading with our sons. A warm cup of this cookies and cream hot cocoa recipe is ideal alongside these fun books this winter!
- Chocolate by Hershey (a story about Milton Hershey)
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Candy's Chocolate Kingdom
- Make It: Chocolate (Story of how to make chocolate)
A good hot cocoa recipe isn't just about something to drink. It is all about creating a feel-good moment for yourself and your children. Take advantage of a cold winter day and enjoying some delicious hot cocoa with your children!

Oh. My. Goodness. You just blew my mind with the candy bar! My daughter’s been obsessed with hot chocolate (although today she spilled her whole cup, oops), so this will definitely be a special treat for her this winter. =)
