Raising tweens is tough.  Some days, things get a little crazy around here.  If the weather's nice, it's easy to kick them outside to burn off some steam or head to the park for a bit.  On rainy days or when cold winter temps set it, I need something calm and quiet to keep my nerves from fraying.

We love board games, but we also love to read as a family. My personal favorite is having everyone curl up with their own book and watching the expressions on their faces.  I have 3 preteen boys with very different reading tastes, so I wanted to share some of the Best Chapter Books for Tween Boys.

Chapter Books for Tween Boys

I have 3 tween boys and a teen boy, all with varied interests.  One thing we all love is visiting the library though.  My 12-year-old fell in love with Goosebumps books.  They are the only books he will pick out on his own, but I'm just so glad he found something he loves to read!

My oldest took forever to read anything but once he found a book he enjoyed, it was like a switch was flipped.  No more fighting while doing our spelling and reading lessons, his vocabulary exploded, and I'd catch him sneaking a book into the window to try and read with the streetlight!

The twins picked up on reading with basically no help from me.  By the time they were 6, they were reading chapter books and helping my middle son sound things out when he needed help. They devoured all the books we had here and wanted more ideas.

We buy few/used books at the local bookstore and she was full of ideas for all the boys. Our librarians are also amazing and will spend time helping the boys find a book that really appeals to them & even order things from other libraries for them.

If you are doing your holiday shopping online this year, don't forget to take advantage of the perks of being an Amazon Prime member! On top of free 2-day shipping with a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, you can borrow Kindle books, watch Prime Video, and even score early access to some holiday deals!
