One of my favorite things about summer is canning season. I love taking fresh produce from the garden & farmer's market and turning it into shelf stable food we can use the rest of the year! I love to can! I love the process (although that can change a few hours into a large canning session), I love tasting our creations, and I love being able to open a can of wholesome food without all the preservatives you find in store bought stuff. While pinning all the canning recipes I want to try out, I came across so many new ones that I just had to create a list to share with you. Here are over 100 canning recipes, split into categories to make it easier for you to find what you want to can this summer!
If you are new to canning, don't be overwhelmed. Water canning is the easiest (and cheapest!) way to get started. For everything you'll need, check out the great post on Canning Essentials Tracy put together for you. It really is as simple as preparing your ingredients, putting everything into sterilized jars (I run mine through the dishwasher) and then boiling the full jars for a while. Each recipe has a different processing time, so make sure to note them!
For pressure canning, you need a special canner. Mine is a 23 Quart Pressure Canner & Cooker from Presto, but Ive seen others with great reviews too. You'll need a pressure canner for meat, veggies, poultry, and seafood. A water bath canner is great for high acidic foods like pickles, jams, and fruit. Now, onto the delicious recipes!
