Slow Cooker Applesauce
Makes 3 pints This recipe can be easily doubled and frozen. I use mason jars and leave a 1/2-inch headspace). Will last 2 weeks in the refrigerator, and 6 months in the freezer.

Instructions
Core, peel, and cut the apples into bite-sided chunks.
Toss them in the slow cooker with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir to combine. Add the water and cover.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours, stirring occasionally.
Mash or puree the apple mixture as desired.
