Refreshing Coconut Mango Smoothie – A Tropical Treat Your Family Will Love!

We love smoothies for breakfast & snacks. This Coconut Mango Tropical Smoothie Recipe is a favorite.  Instead of using high-calorie milk and yogurt, this is all about the fresh fruit flavors and tropical coconut juice.  Your whole family will love this easy recipe!  Plus, it is a great way to use up ripe mangoes and peaches you have on hand!

We tend to avoid dairy more often than not, and that means almond milk smoothies are a hit with our kids.  However, sometimes, I want something that isn't as rich, but still full of flavor.  Whether you use this tropical smoothie recipe for a sweet and easy dessert or a great breakfast, you'll love the flavor.  It isn't rich in flavor, but not heavy on your stomach like some.

Coconut Mango Tropical Smoothie Recipe

This recipe says to use fresh fruit, but you can easily substitute frozen if not available in your area.  I tend to grab peaches and mangoes on sale and prep them into smoothie bags in advance.  This can save both time and money.  For this recipe especially, it can give it a nice frothy and cold texture.

Ingredients for Tropical Coconut Milk Smoothie

  • 1/3 cup fresh mango
  • 1/3 cup fresh peach
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 2-3 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 3 ice cubes

Directions for Tropical Coconut Mango Smoothie

In a blender add fresh mango, peaches, coconut milk, lemon juice, mint leaves and three ice cubes.

Blend until smooth.

Serve immediately.

Making a tropical smoothie recipe is a sure way to make kids happy at breakfast time.  I know my kids love drinking a sweet treat, and this makes them feel like I am giving them something extra special.  They don't realize just how healthy this is with all of the nutrients!

You can easily add some spinach, kale, or hemp hearts for a few of their health benefits.  Chia seeds or flax will help thicken it up to a more milkshake-like consistency while still providing health benefits.  Adding these healthy things can make you feel good as a mom, while also giving your kids a treat they will come back for again and again.

Storage

I don't recommend storing any smoothie after blending. You can meal prep and freeze smoothie packs though! Simply put all of the ingredients into a ziplock bag and freeze. To use, simply pour into the blender & blend until smooth.

Variations

Ingredient you don't like? Here's some ideas on simple swaps you can make.

  • Use your favorite milk instead of coconut milk.
  • Add protein powder to boost your intake & stay full longer.
  • Add a handful of spinach or kale for more nutrients.
  • Swap the mango out for pineapple or passionfruit.

Pro Tips

Make sure to use ripe mangoes. They should be slightly soft to the touch (but not squishy!) and smell sweet.

Freeze your mango & coconut milk for a thicker smoothie.
