Smoothies are a great way to add fruit, dairy, and protein to your breakfast or you can have one as a pick-me-up whenever you need it.  We normally do a smoothie breakfast once a week.  I let the boys throw whatever they want into theirs (within reason) and they have a piece of peanut butter or nutella toast to go with it.  Its a quick, easy, healthy breakfast that they all love!

Here are a few of our favorite smoothie recipes!

Strawberry-Banana Kale Smoothie
  • 2 bananas
  • 6-8 frozen strawberries
  • 4 cups chopped kale
  • 1 cups light unsweetened soy milk (or low-fat dairy milk)
  • 2 Tbsp ground flax seeds
  • 2 Tsp maple syrup
  • 8-10 ice cubes

Notes: Serves 2. Adapted from AllRecipes.com

Blueberry Vanilla Smoothie

  • 1 c. frozen blueberries
  • 1 c. vanilla yogurt (or a 6 oz container)
  • 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 c. soy milk (or lowfat milk)

Notes: Serves 2. Adapted from Smoothie Web

Peach-Mango Smoothie

  • 1 peach, sliced
  • 1 mango, peeled & sliced
  • 1/2 c. yogurt (peach or vanilla)
  • 1/2 c. orange juice, as needed

Notes: Serves 2. Adapted from AllRecipes.com

Blueberry Banana Smoothie

  • 1/2 c. frozen blueberries
  • 1 banana, frozen
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 c. orange juice, as needed

Notes: Serves 2. Adapted from AllRecipes.com

I just made the strawberry banana kale smoothie and my pickiest (4 year old) eater loved it!!  Score!  I will be making this again.  🙂  Thank you for sharing your recipe.
